THE PROJECT
Thousands
of young people will converged in Toronto, Canada, for the World Youth
Day, July 18th to 28th , 2002. They came from all around the world and especially
from North America.
Spread out
across a vast continent encompassing Canada, the United States, Mexico, the
Caribbean, and even Cuba, millions of Catholics live in North America.
While it may be well known to many in the world that Spanish speaking Mexico
has a large Catholic population, the United States is likewise a nation of faith.
People have the misconception that the US is a secular society.
Yet they have a president who "blesses" his citizens, bank-notes stamped
with the words "in God we trust" and official prayer at the beginning
of each session of Congress.
Beyond the "clichés", we ask : who are these North-American
Catholics ?
